Our Week in Review – W/C 29th June ’20

⭐️OUR WEEK IN REVIEW – W/C 29th June 2020⭐️

Welcome to our second post in our new social series, ‘Our Week in Review‘.

It has been another terrific week at PlaySport, with the coaching team working with the children in our partner schools, delivering socially distanced PE and lunch club activities. However, the highlight of the week has to be announcing our new Fun Week location at Fox Hill Primary School in Bracknell!

Like last week, we start with our Summer Fun Weeks! If you have kept a keen eye on our social media posts, as well as being on our email list, you would have seen we have announced a BRAND-NEW location for the summer holidays at Fox Hill Primary School in Bracknell! The Fun Week will be open every day from Thursday 23rd June – Wednesday 26th August between 8.00am and 6.00pm.

This camp will be themed as a “SUMMER OF SPORT”. This our way of trying to make up for any lost time due to the pandemic and get children in the local area doing what they love again with their friends, which is “Play Sport”! In addition to providing sports, we will also be offering a wide variety of Arts n Crafts and Performing Arts activities, to ensure the Fun Week is inclusive for children with different interests and individual needs.

The PlaySport team are working hard behind the scenes on ensuring we deliver a provision which is highly fun and engaging for the children, as well as strictly keeping in line with government guidelines..this summer promises to be one to remember!

The PlaySport team continue working with ‘bubble groups’ in PE at 3 of our partner schools; Fox Hill, St Michael’s Easthampstead and Great Hollands. The coaching team are focusing on Tennis, Athletics and Rounders (all socially distanced of course). The inconsistent weather, whilst troublesome, has not stopped the children enjoying and developing in their PE!

Fox Hill Mr Sleet and Mr McBride have had another highly enjoyable week at the school, with the children not only enjoying themselves and working incredibly hard, but further progressing in their skills.

Highlight of the Week – The Year 4/5 bubble groups perseverance and subsequent progress in their serve in Tennis. Definitely some wonderful talent in this group!

St Michael’s EasthampsteadMr Stow has had another enjoyable week with the children, working daily with different bubbles and providing stimulating and active activities for the children. Rounders has been the main sport played this week, with the KS1 children learning the basic skills and KS2 more game-based, which has proved a big hit with the children!

Highlight of the Week – One of the children hitting Mr Stow’s car with a tennis ball, thankfully the car is fine, and the class had a good laugh about it!

Great Hollands – Mr Howard has kept his bubble groups busy, continuing working on ball skills whilst keeping the children highly active! The weather has made life trickier, but Mr Howard’s creative nature and experience ensured the children had a wonderful week.

Highlight of the Week – The Year 6 bubble this week were an absolute dream – an absolute pleasure to work with them!

With the launch of a new Fun Weeks location, the PlaySport management have been working very hard behind the scenes on the set-up process, with the ‘new normal’ social distancing rules and different safety procedures very much at the forefront. Our number 1 priority at this summer’s Fun Weeks is keeping the children, parents and staff safe, we can assure you; every step will be in-place and all guidance will be strictly followed!
